Thursday, 16th July, 2009. As you may or may not be aware, Gwynedd Council Board met on Tuesday, 14th July, 2009, to discuss the future of Harlech Swimming |Pool. The decision went in our favour and the Council have agreed to transfer the Pool to the community through the formation of a Charitable Trust later this year. The important point to make is that the pool will remain open, as the threat of closure has now been removed and will operate as before with the same hours of opening, swimming club meetings and lessons continuing unchanged, for the foreseeable future. I wish to bring this to your attention for two reasons. 1. To assure you that as a pool user you can now look forward to a secure future for the facility under the management of the Trust.2. To ask for your help and support in this period of transition. The Trust will be asking for the community to support the pool by continuing to use it, as pool usage is vital if the Trust is to be successful. Any offers of help, whether practical, physical or financial would be gratefully received. A public meeting will be arranged soon to discuss the new direction of Harlech Pool under the management of the Trust. Thank you for your continued support.
